Refund and Returns Policy

Effective date: January 22, 2018 | Last updated: July 16, 2026

This Refund and Returns Policy explains how returns, exchanges, cancellations, refunds, freight-damage claims, fitment errors, core credits and warranty-related claims are handled for products purchased directly from PrimeCore Engines through primecoreengines.com or by an order expressly accepted by PrimeCore.

Our goal is to state the material return conditions before purchase and apply them as written. A product page may display a different return rule for a particular SKU, such as a custom-built, special-order or defective-only item. When a product-specific rule is clearly disclosed before purchase, that rule controls for that item. Nothing in this Policy limits a right or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited.

1. Scope and Definitions

This Policy applies only to purchases made directly from PrimeCore. A marketplace, dealer, installer, financing provider, manufacturer or other third party may have a separate policy for a purchase made from that party.

1. Buyer’s remorse means a return requested because the customer changed their mind, ordered the wrong item, no longer needs the item, or supplied incomplete or inaccurate vehicle or fitment information.

2. Seller-fault return means a return caused by a PrimeCore shipping error, a PrimeCore-confirmed fitment error based on complete and accurate information supplied before purchase, shipping damage, or a product that was materially nonconforming when delivered.

3. RMA means a return merchandise authorization issued by PrimeCore with routing, packaging and shipping instructions.

4. Business day means Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. federal holidays.

5. Installed includes any mounting, attempted installation, connection, programming, fluid filling, operation or other use that materially changes the product’s condition or returnability.

2. Standard Return Window

Unless a different product-specific rule was clearly disclosed before purchase, contact PrimeCore and request an RMA within 30 calendar days after the product is delivered according to the carrier’s delivery record.

An RMA is valid for 14 calendar days after issuance unless the authorization states a different period. The return must be tendered to the authorized carrier within that period. Requesting an RMA does not itself guarantee eligibility or a refund; the returned product is inspected under this Policy.

A product-specific page may provide a longer period, a shorter lawful period, or defective-only returns for a clearly identified special-order, custom-built or restricted item. The product-specific rule must be visible before purchase and must match any advertisement or Merchant Center listing.

3. Product Eligibility Overview

Product or issue Default eligibility Default cost treatment
New / crate engine 30 days; unused, uninstalled, unrun, no fluids, complete and safely packaged. Buyer’s remorse: customer return freight + 15% restocking fee. Seller fault: PrimeCore return freight + no fee.
Remanufactured engine 30 days; unused, uninstalled, unrun, no fluids, complete and safely packaged. Core return is separate. Same default cost treatment as above.
Long block or short block 30 days; unused, uninstalled, unrun, no fluids, complete and safely packaged. Same default cost treatment as above.
Engine accessory or stocked part 30 days; unused, uninstalled and complete, with intact seals where condition affects resale or safety. Same default cost treatment as above.
Wrong, damaged or materially nonconforming item Contact us promptly; do not install or discard the item or packaging. PrimeCore pays reasonable return costs; no restocking fee; applicable original delivery charge is refunded.
Defect discovered after installation or operation Handled under the applicable written warranty and non-waivable law, not as a buyer’s-remorse return. Costs and remedies follow the written warranty and applicable law.
Special-order, custom-built or final-sale item Only as stated in the disclosure shown before purchase; legal and warranty remedies remain available. As disclosed before purchase and permitted by law.

4. How to Request a Return

6. Call PrimeCore at 478-379-2400 within the applicable return period. Have the order number, purchaser name, delivery date, SKU or part number, product and serial information, VIN, reason for return and current product condition available.

7. Provide clear photographs of the product, identification tags, serial numbers, all sides of the crate or pallet, packaging, carrier labels and any visible damage or discrepancy when requested.

8. Wait for written or recorded RMA approval and the authorized return destination. Do not ship to the business address unless the RMA specifically directs you there.

9. Drain all fluids when applicable, install plugs and covers, protect machined surfaces, include required components and documents, and secure the product to a freight-rated pallet or crate under the RMA instructions.

10. Use the authorized carrier or a trackable and adequately insured service. Keep the tracking record, bill of lading, photographs and proof of tender until the claim or refund is complete.

Unauthorized or misrouted returns may be refused, delayed or returned to the sender because engines and blocks often require a specific warehouse, remanufacturer or freight dock. We will not impose an undisclosed fee merely because an address was not publicly listed; we will provide routing after authorization.

5. Required Condition for Buyer’s-Remorse Returns

To qualify for a discretionary buyer’s-remorse return, the product must be in materially the same saleable condition in which it was delivered and must satisfy all applicable requirements below:

11. Unused, uninstalled, unrun, unpainted, unprogrammed, not filled with oil, coolant, fuel or other fluid, and not disassembled, altered or modified.

12. All serial numbers, identification tags, tamper labels and manufacturer or remanufacturer markings are present, legible and unaltered.

13. All included components, plugs, covers, hardware, documents, manuals, accessories, promotional items and packaging are returned.

14. The product is free from customer-caused impact, corrosion, contamination, weather exposure, improper storage or handling damage.

15. The original pallet, crate or equivalent protective freight packaging is used when reasonably necessary for safe return.

6. Items Not Eligible for a Voluntary Return

The following items are not eligible for a buyer’s-remorse return, except to the extent a defect, nonconformity, written warranty or applicable law provides a remedy:

16. An engine, block or component that has been installed, attempted to be installed, run, filled with fluid, painted, disassembled, programmed, tuned, altered or modified.

17. A custom-built, configured, made-to-order, special-order or final-sale product clearly identified with its return restriction before purchase.

18. An electrical, electronic, sensor or control product with a broken seal or evidence of installation when the change materially affects verification, safety or resale.

19. A product with removed, altered or missing serial numbers, identification tags, labels or material included components.

20. A product damaged by incorrect packaging, unauthorized freight, improper handling, contamination, exposure, misuse, accident or neglect after delivery.

21. Opened fluids, chemicals, sealants, hazardous materials or other consumables that cannot lawfully or safely be resold, if the restriction was disclosed before purchase.

22. A core after it has been accepted and credited under the applicable core program.

Installation alone does not eliminate a claim for a defect that reasonably could not have been discovered before installation. Such a claim is evaluated under the applicable written warranty and non-waivable law, including causation and documentation requirements.

7. Wrong, Missing or Materially Nonconforming Products

If we sent the wrong SKU, condition, configuration or quantity, or a material included component is missing, stop and contact us before installation. Provide the order information and photographs reasonably needed to verify the discrepancy.

When PrimeCore confirms the error, we will, at our option and as permitted by law, send the correct product or component, arrange a replacement, or accept a return and issue the applicable refund. PrimeCore will pay reasonable authorized return shipping, will not charge a restocking fee, and will refund any separately charged original delivery cost attributable to the affected item when a refund is provided.

Do not purchase substitute components or incur labor, storage, teardown or other costs in expectation of reimbursement unless PrimeCore or the applicable warrantor approves the cost in writing or law requires reimbursement.

8. Freight Damage and Delivery Inspection

Engines and blocks commonly ship by LTL freight. At delivery, inspect the pallet or crate, bands, wrapping, tip indicators, labels and visible product before signing the delivery receipt. Count the pieces and compare the product identification to the order.

23. Write every visible shortage or sign of damage on the carrier’s delivery receipt before signing; do not write only “subject to inspection.”

24. Photograph the shipment before unloading and after unwrapping, including all sides, the pallet or crate, bands, labels, damage and delivery receipt.

25. If damage appears severe, ask the driver to remain while you call PrimeCore when reasonably possible. Refuse delivery only when directed or when acceptance cannot be performed safely.

26. Preserve the product, crate, pallet, wrapping and labels. Do not install, repair, discard or return the product until PrimeCore provides instructions.

Please report visible freight damage within 2 business days after delivery and concealed damage within 5 business days after discovery. These prompt-reporting periods help preserve evidence and carrier remedies; they do not automatically waive a non-waivable legal right. PrimeCore may request a reasonable inspection or carrier review before approving the remedy.

9. Fitment, VIN and Customer-Supplied Information

Before ordering, provide complete and accurate VIN, year, make, model, trim, drivetrain, engine size and code, emissions family, casting information, calibration and modification history when requested. Vehicle production changes, prior swaps and aftermarket modifications may require physical verification by a qualified installer.

If PrimeCore confirms fitment in writing based on complete and accurate information and nevertheless supplies a materially incompatible product, the return is treated as seller fault: PrimeCore pays reasonable authorized return shipping and no restocking fee applies.

If the mismatch results from missing or inaccurate customer information, an unreported prior engine swap or modification, failure to verify the delivered product before installation, or the customer’s selection contrary to our written advice, an otherwise eligible return is treated as buyer’s remorse. Installed or altered items ordinarily proceed through the applicable warranty or other legal remedy rather than a voluntary return.

10. Return Shipping and Original Delivery Charges

Buyer’s-remorse returns

The customer pays return freight, liftgate, residential service, insurance, pallet or crate, storage and other return-transport charges. The customer bears the risk of damage or loss until the authorized return destination receives the product, subject to applicable law. Separately charged original shipping and handling are not refunded for a buyer’s-remorse return.

If the original order displayed free shipping, PrimeCore will not create or deduct an undisclosed outbound shipping charge from the refund. Any deduction for an actual promotional shipping cost must have been clearly disclosed before purchase and must be lawful.

Seller-fault returns

PrimeCore provides a prepaid label or arranges reasonable freight pickup for a confirmed wrong item, shipping error, shipping damage, material nonconformity at delivery, or PrimeCore-confirmed fitment error based on accurate information. No restocking fee applies, and the applicable original delivery charge is refunded if the transaction is refunded.

If a customer chooses a return method or premium service that PrimeCore did not authorize, reimbursement may be limited to the reasonable authorized cost unless applicable law requires more.

11. Restocking Fee and Other Deductions

A 15% restocking fee is deducted from the product price of an eligible buyer’s-remorse return. The fee is disclosed here as part of the return conditions and must also be accurately reflected wherever Google or another sales channel requests a restocking-fee setting.

No restocking fee applies to a confirmed seller-fault return, including a wrong item, shipping error, covered freight damage, material nonconformity at delivery or PrimeCore-confirmed fitment error based on accurate information.

In addition to the disclosed restocking fee, PrimeCore may deduct the documented reasonable cost of missing components or customer-caused damage only when the deduction reflects the returned condition, is permitted by law, and is explained to the customer. We do not charge a hidden handling, inspection, processing or “administrative” fee.

12. Inspection and Refund Amount

After the authorized destination receives the return, we inspect the product, identification, components and packaging. We may compare serial numbers, photographs, weights, carrier records and condition to the shipment record. We will communicate a material eligibility problem or deduction and its basis.

For an approved buyer’s-remorse return, the refund ordinarily equals the product price actually paid, less the disclosed 15% restocking fee and any lawful documented condition deduction. Original shipping is not refunded and the customer’s return-shipping cost is not reimbursed.

For an approved seller-fault return, the refund ordinarily includes the product price actually paid and any separately charged original delivery amount attributable to the returned item. PrimeCore pays the reasonable authorized return cost and no restocking fee applies. Taxes are refunded as required by law and the taxing authority’s rules.

13. Refund Method and Timing

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method, ordinarily within 10 business days after inspection. The bank, card network, financing provider or payment service may require additional time to post the credit. We may use another lawful method if the original method is unavailable or if the customer and PrimeCore agree.

A gift card or store credit will not replace a refund to the original payment method when law requires a monetary refund. A refund is limited to amounts actually received by PrimeCore; interest, account fees or other financing charges are controlled by the financing provider’s agreement, subject to applicable law.

If only part of a multi-item order is returned, shipping, discount and promotion adjustments are allocated as disclosed and reasonably related to the returned item. We will not retroactively remove a discount unless the promotion stated how a partial return would be handled.

14. Exchanges and Replacement Orders

PrimeCore does not guarantee a direct exchange. To reduce delays and pricing confusion, an exchange may be processed as an authorized return and a separate new order. The new order is subject to current price, availability, shipping and fitment review. A replacement for a seller-fault return will not include a restocking fee or duplicate authorized return charge.

Do not place a replacement order expecting an automatic offset unless PrimeCore confirms the arrangement. A replacement order and the original refund may post separately.

15. Order Cancellations, Refused Shipments and Failed Delivery

Call us immediately to request cancellation. A request is not effective until confirmed. We will cancel a standard order before shipment when reasonably possible. A special-order, custom-built or configured product may have a disclosed cancellation restriction or documented nonrecoverable cost shown before purchase.

After shipment, cancellation is handled under this Policy. If a customer refuses a conforming shipment without PrimeCore’s authorization, or causes return because of an incorrect address, missed appointment, inaccessible site or failure to accept delivery, the transaction is treated as buyer’s remorse. The customer may be responsible for actual return freight, storage, redelivery or reconsignment charges plus the disclosed 15% restocking fee, to the extent permitted by law.

If PrimeCore cannot ship within the stated time, or within the period required by the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule when applicable, we will provide the legally required delay or cancellation options and issue a prompt refund when required.

16. Core Returns and Core Credits

A core return is not a return of the purchased engine. It is a separate exchange program under which a disclosed core charge may be credited after the correct used core is timely returned and accepted.

The product page, checkout or separate Core Return Policy must disclose the core amount, eligible make or family, casting and configuration, required major components, rebuildable-condition standard, return deadline, freight responsibility, packaging, inspection, rejection or deduction rules and credit method. If a product-specific core term was not disclosed before purchase, PrimeCore will not impose an undisclosed shorter deadline or material condition after purchase.

27. Obtain the core-return authorization and authorized destination.

28. Drain all fluids, install plugs and covers, preserve tags and castings, and secure the core to the approved pallet or crate.

29. Keep photographs, pickup confirmation, tracking and the bill of lading until the core credit is complete.

30. Allow inspection for identity, completeness, structural damage and rebuildability under the disclosed product-specific standard.

Accepted core credits are ordinarily issued within 10 business days after inspection, subject to payment-provider posting time. If a core is rejected or a disclosed deduction is applied, PrimeCore will identify the material reason. An accepted core becomes the property of PrimeCore or the identified core administrator when credit is issued.

17. Warranty Claims Are Different From Voluntary Returns

A problem discovered after installation or operation is ordinarily handled under the written warranty identified on the product page, rather than the 30-day voluntary-return process. The written warranty states the warrantor, term, covered defects, exclusions, documentation, inspection and remedies, including whether labor, diagnostics, fluids, towing or shipping are covered.

31. Stop operating the product if continued use may cause additional damage and call 478-379-2400 promptly.

32. Provide the order number, VIN, product and serial information, mileage or hours, installation invoice, maintenance records, diagnostics, photographs and a description of the concern.

33. Do not disassemble, repair, discard or ship the engine without authorization unless necessary to prevent harm or applicable law provides otherwise.

34. Follow the warrantor’s reasonable inspection, diagnostic and return instructions and retain the product and related components until the claim is resolved.

Nothing in this Policy disclaims an implied warranty or limits a remedy where the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, state law or another applicable rule prohibits that result. Warranty coverage is not denied solely because an independent shop performed installation or a non-branded equivalent part was used; however, damage actually caused by improper installation, incompatible components, misuse or inadequate maintenance may be excluded as permitted by law.

18. Promotions, Bundles, Gifts and Partial Returns

If a returned item was part of a bundle, quantity discount, rebate or gift-with-purchase offer, all required bundle items or promotional gifts must be returned to receive the full eligible refund. If an item is retained, the refund may be reduced by the price or promotion adjustment clearly disclosed before purchase, to the extent permitted by law.

Manufacturer rebates are governed by the issuer’s terms. PrimeCore does not promise that a submitted or paid rebate can be reversed. Tell us before returning a product if a rebate was submitted so we can explain available options.

19. Financing, Pay-Later and Payment Disputes

A refund for an order financed through a third party is sent to the financing provider or original payment channel as required by that provider’s process. Continue making required payments until the provider confirms that the credit has been applied. PrimeCore does not control the provider’s interest, fees, statements or posting time.

We encourage customers to contact PrimeCore first so we can investigate a return or refund issue. This request does not waive or delay a lawful billing-error, card-network, financing or consumer-protection right. Knowingly submitting false claims, duplicate refunds or altered evidence may result in denial, account restriction or referral as permitted by law.

20. Return Fraud, Abuse and Safety

We may refuse a return, replacement or credit when reasonably supported evidence shows serial-number mismatch, substitution, tampering, false delivery or damage claims, altered documents, intentional product damage, repeated abusive conduct or another material violation of this Policy. We may require identity or transaction verification proportionate to fraud risk and will handle personal information under our Privacy Policy.

For safety and regulatory reasons, do not ship an engine or component containing fuel, oil, coolant, batteries, pressurized material or another hazardous substance contrary to carrier rules. The sender is responsible for truthful hazardous-material declarations and authorized packaging. Contact PrimeCore before shipment if you are unsure.

21. State and Federal Consumer Rights

This Policy is intended to operate with the Federal Trade Commission Act, the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule when applicable, the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, the Georgia Fair Business Practices Act, applicable versions of the Uniform Commercial Code, and other federal and state consumer-protection laws.

Online purchases do not automatically carry a universal federal three-day cancellation right. Rights for damaged, defective, misdescribed, late or nonconforming goods may apply independently of a voluntary return policy and vary by state. If a term of this Policy conflicts with a non-waivable law, the law controls and the remaining terms continue to apply.

22. Policy Changes

We may update this Policy prospectively to reflect operational, legal or platform changes. The version displayed when an order is submitted governs that order unless a later change is more favorable to the customer or law requires otherwise. The effective and last-updated dates appear at the top of the Policy.
